Sweet Knowle Aquatics
"We are proud to offer fish of the highest quality that are all fully quarantined for a minimum of two weeks in our purpose built quarantine facilities. More delicate species (in particular wild-caught fish) are afforded a full acclimatisation period during and after quarantining to ensure that they are not only in the best possible health when offered for sale but that they are also fully adjusted to our water/conditions and equally as important that they are all eating readily and on a variety of foods.
"We import fish from all over the world but also breed a number of species on-site, these have included Discus, Angels, Malawi and Tanganyika Cichlids, Ancistrus, Leporacanthicus Galaxias, Livebearers, Corydoras, Kribensis etc.
"Jeremy Gay of Practical Fishkeeping said: 'I love this shop because of the water gardens in the summertime; proper, planted gardens not concrete ponds with water features; quality and health of fish; selection of tropical fish from Microrasboras to rare stingrays and the passion among staff. Every fish is treated as if they were in the home aquarium and they get better every visit.'"

"I made the hour journey to SKA last weekend and it was well worth it. Display tanks were well furnished and attractive, even the smaller stock tanks. All the fish looked healthy and well cared for. They have a very good online shop showing their stock, including less-than-common imports from Africa - my reason for travelling.
I'll definitely be heading back to SKA for more fish in the future. I must get a bigger tank because suddenly I know a place that has the fish I want!"

"Dan and his family are very helpful. I will always use them if I can because if I have any problems I know they will help me out no questions asked, so far I have brought all my fish and plants from there.
It is a bit of the beaten track BUT the fish are all healthy, plants are the same and they have lots of stock, if they haven't got it they will for you.
Cafe is not bad either looking over their ponds.
Only down side is that they are not open on a Saturday ( football mad )!!!!
I recommend anybody to visit them they will be blown away, 5 stars given."

"I visited Sweet Knowle Aquatics for the second time yesterday. The fish and tanks are in fantastic condition and the staff are friendly and knowledgable. They have a great range of tropicals and quite a few rarer L numbers, I treated myself to a couple of sunshine plecs for my large aquarium while I was there. Last time I bought a small group of Chili Rasboras (for a different aquarium to the plecs obviously) which settled in extremely quickly and coloured up beautifully.
They are out in the sticks but findable with sat nav and well worth the hours drive it took for me to get there. Just check their opening times before you go, as mentioned above they are closed on Saturdays."

"Recently I've had fish delivered to my door from Sweet Knowle Aquatics. I can't remember last receiving such healthy vibrant fish. The barbs were stunning along with the rainbows. They must obtain their fish stock from excellent sources.
Posted by: MicaAfter a short quarantine period I put the new fish into the main aquarium. They adapted very quickly and are in great condition.
It has seriously made me think twice about ever buying again from the many outlets in my local area. Often these fish have proved to be poor specimens."
