The massive Dubai Mall aquarium has re-opened after it sprang a leak, resulting in the partial evacuation of the complex.
The giant aquarium, which holds around 10 million litres of water and is stocked with 33,000 tropical marine fish including sharks, sprang a "small leak" last week which caused a partial evacuation and brief shutdown of part of the Mall.Video footage shows water gushing out of the aquarium's 75cm thick 245 tonne acrylic viewing panel, which is in the record books for being the world's largest at nearly 33m x 8.3m.
According to reports, shopkeepers near the aquarium were instructed to evacuate their stores due to fears of further flooding during repairs.
Recent reports claim that the area around the aquarium has since re-opened with the tunnel due to re-open once it has been checked by a technical team.
The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world and sits beneath the Burj Khalifa, which is believed to be one of the world's largest buildings.
