Oliver Knott entered this striking aquascape into a live aquascaping contest in Germany, which took place at the end of January.
An artist well-known for his slightly off-the-wall designs, Oliver's tank was inspired by the recent Avatar movie. The design featured floating polystyrene balls which were planted up using pre-grown epiphyte plants.
The background to Oliver's aquascape was a plasma TV featuring surround sound with rainforest sound effects. Now doesn't that beat a piece of black card (or the wallpaper) that many of us use as a tank background?
